2008 Hyundai Sonata, the power windows only work if the driver door is completely open.

Hi Steve and welcome.

You're not gonna like this, but from what you describe there is a good chance the wires between the door as you open and close it in the hinge area probably are broken.
Sometimes you can open the covering and just pull slightly on each wire and the broken one will feel like a piece of spaghetti, then you confirmed it. There are a few ways to repair it and that we will leave up to you.

Thank you for the advice, after I removed the driver door panel and found nothing wrong I thought it might be a loose connection. I'll check it out . Thanks again
