I have a car, a Hyundai Accent 1.3 (4 doors), bought at 1998. It is like the image, I attach.
Lately, I have noticed that in the exterior of the car, just below the engine, there is something that protrudes (downwards) nearby the car chassis, in both sides, right and left.
I bent down and looked, as far as I could, and seemed indeed some thick plastic plates that protrude downward.
Does anyone know what it is? Can it be dangerous?
I noticed other cars that were passing on the street, of other brands, and I did not noticed something similar.
Those plastic pieces are there to help reduce air drag and make better fuel mileage (MPG)
If your pieces are down then you need to inspect and see if they are in properly
If not then MPG goes down.
