07 3.3L Sonata Short on startup dash sound
Hey guys!
I'm new to the forums, but owned this car since 2007, been fantastic and I absolutely love me pretty girl named Misty.
Got a strange issue for ya'll, I'm not sure whether or not to be worried about this odd, particular sound.
Coming from the dash!
More info on this is that it does not occur every startup whether hot or cold, it seems to be random.
I do not need to start the engine, but simply have the car on. I have been told it may be an air conditioning issue, but this is bizarre!

hey yeah, all the fluids in the vehicle are fine, recent oil change and the coolant is perfect, I did get the ac serviced recently and they said nothing either. The problem existed long before the service haha but only maybe once every 4 or 5 times I started the vehicle

Couldn't get the video to play.
Can you tell us which side of the dash the sound seems to be originating?
Are your controls always in the same position when turning the key on?
It would help if you noted what controls were not off when you turn the key on.
Things like this require a little detective work looking for anything that is different at the time you turn the key on.

Hey thanks, yeah definitely nothing from the glovebox or any storage area. The area it comes from is deadset centre of the dash, it's not easy to tell in the video but it is right from behind the stereo headunit and a/c vents and/or *****.

These are strictly a shot in the dark since we can't hear the sound and can't be there to see the conditions.
One of the things behind the dash making a peculiar sound could be a malfunctioning door motor for the heater defroster system.
If you wanted to confirm this , you would need to remove the glove compartment box and look behind there and see if that looks like the source of the weird noise.
There is not too much back there and just maybe you will be able to pin it down.
Again, that is why I questioned where the controls were at the time of the noise although the controls may or may not be contributing to the problem.
