I replaced the timing belt and water pump in my 2010 elantra, now there is a slight whine from the timing belt, confirmed from timing belt. I made sure and double checked that the tension is correct and within the white marked window. Not from any pulleys. What could this be? Could it be the new gates belt?

 

From your description, what else can it be??

 

Did you replace it with an OEM Hyundai timing belt?

 

Did you also change the idler and tensioner pulleys??

 

Some time belts have direction arrow. The one for my accent did not Make a doing recording and post link. All plastic covers in right place. When you replace worn idlers, then you hear new sounds that we’re hidden
