I pulled valve cover and one cam cap screw was not tight. I removed two spacer washers off each side and it is very tight. Now. Then ran it for thirty minutes. Sounds good. TheN noticed a oil drip around main crank seal. Now I got pull timing belt and main pull again. Seems like that’s the only place to leak from in the front. I’m about to be frustrated.

Oil leak around 2:00 position. I suppose the crank is spraying around every where?

Took off the timing belt for the 4th time. I am the Accent timing belt Master! It’s covered in oil....main seal is fine. I’m thinking the oil leak was when I forgot a bolt that goes into the block to hold engine mount. It was 14 mm silver with green on the end that goes into hole. I realized it Was missing early today and the oil was from the past that was just dropping out. I washed pulleys in brake clean. And the belts with dish soap.

The silver 14 mm bolt was under this mount. I’m guessing the oil came out when the bolt was not installed

It is very unusual for any engine mount bolt hole to go through to the oil system. I would look into that a little further.

I’ll put the timing belt on and run it with the covers off. Stay tuned.

Maybe. I can set the cam To close all the valves and just run the starter to turn engine over To find leak

Silly me. There was not a cam seal installed . Kinda of thought the rebuild shop would do it.

Went for drive. Some hesitation. Misfire code in 1 and 2. Maybe cooked coil packs. Also got a p0012 cam is retarded. Not sure if that is a Cam variable timing issue or I put the cam in wrong.

Thx for the support S-P! I switched around coil packs and 1 miss fire went away. The little springs that fit on the sparK plug top had bent over and were not touching the plugs correctly. Still have 2 misfire.

Looks like the cam over retarded code happens when I drive hard. So maybe the var timing valve is not doing it’s job or oil pressure is not moving that clutch thing on the intake cam shaft. I need to learn more about how variable timing works. I don’t think it will hurt anything if the variable timing is broke. Other than make it slower.

I’ll let it cool off and pull number 2 plug. Stay tuned Ps. Hot rodding around with the hood removed is Fun!

Coil pack update. I moved 2 coil pack. To 1. Misfire moved to one. Then moved it to 3. 3 misfired. OrderEd 4 coil packs. Just $23 bucks. This overheat repair is going to nickel and dime me to death. They Come in next week. Still get over retarded intake cam CEL When I drive it around. Car seems low powered. Not sure if its the miss fire or the cam or both.
