Hi, I 'm a new guy here looking for a little help. I have a 2005 elantra with 50,000 miles on it. Yesterday I went to put my car in reverse and it wouldn't go into gear even though the it said it was in reverse. The little engine light came on and it thru a p0736 code which is reverse gear incorrect ratio and p0700 code. I called the dealership and they told me its going to need a new transmission and it would be under warranty but ive never had a transmission drain and fill so the warranty is void. I had the 30000 service but it didnt include a drain and flush. I called another dealership and they said they would service it drain and fill or not. Has anyone seen this before? is my transmission shot? Is it safe to drive to the other dealership a 1 and 1/2 away? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

 

Did you do the recommended scheduled maintenence? Anyway, seems like they should honor the warranty. I don't know if it's safe to drive. Sounds like it's possibly an electrical problem.
