Santa fe 2001, 4 cy.
The transmission thinks is in manual shift or sport mode. The console lights indicate D-drive AND one of the gears as in 1, or 2, or 3... If i move the stick up to neutral and back into drive i can up-shift to second, third and fourth gear. So I suspect that for some reason the transmission thinks that i moved the stick to the right and into the sport/manual mode.
I have seen a recent post here and someone suggested it could be liquids in the shifter compartment and interfering with some contacts or sensors. I didn't open it yet, but can it be something else? the lines to the transmission? i tend to believe is a mechanical problem but can it be electronics?
