Default RE: Issue with accelerating...sensor? Code P1511

Okay..going to follow up on this finally. Will be great info for the next person this happens to. I went in 2 weeks ago digging into the problem on my sister's car. I got it to act up for me twice. First time, threw a CEL for the APPS. Cleared it, drove it again, acted up, this time threw a CEL for the TPS. I went ahead and replaced the APPS/Throttle linkage (the linkage/spring comes as one unit with the APPS already installed on it). This has cured the problem. So, in the end, all the wiring was fine, and the culprit was indeed the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor!

I would like to see if there is a common problem out there with these if anyone knows here before I take a $150 guess you could say.

Thanks for your time and for the free space!

If it was my car, I'd bite the bullet and spend the $150 for the sensor and take it from there.

This was a godsend. Just register on the Hyundai site and you get all the info you could need. Schematics and everthing. I just looked up this problem in the shop docs and did what it said under repair and it worked. For now anyways. I will let you know. Basically just had to remove the air intake from the throttle body and clean with solvent. Disconnect negative cable for 10 seconds and Baaam! Check engine light is off and car in no longer in limp in mode.
